DHAKA: Investors witnessed fall in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange - on Wednesday (October 19).
The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, shed over 9.34 points and 0.19 percent to stand at 4702.51 at the end of the day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 121,050 with transaction at Tk 5602.65 million.
Of the issues traded, 93 advanced, 185 declined and 45 remained unchanged.
The National Bank Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 390.29 million having changed hands.
The other toppers were Doreen Power Generations and Systems Limited, Grameenphone Ltd., Active Fine Chemicals Limited, Summit Power Limited, Bd.Thai Aluminium Ltd., Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd., First Security Islami Bank Limited, Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited and MJL Bangladesh Limited.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, s CSCX, the prime index, climbing down to 8791.48 by dropping over 14.10 points.
Out of the issues traded, 73 gained, 149 declined and 37 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 311.59 million.
