Markets see negative trend at early hours

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – are witnessing loss in share price indices in the early hours on Thursday (October 20), the fifth and final trading session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 11.55 points or 0.24 percent to stand at 4690.95 points at 12:32 pm.

Trade deals stood at 60,706 with a transaction over Tk 2296.54 million. Of the issues traded, 100 advanced, 164 declined and 53 remained unchanged.

Fortune Shoes Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 402.20 million having changed hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also following the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 37.31 points to stand at 8754.17 points at 12:32 pm.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 63 gained, 107 declined and 30 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 201.02 million.
