Bourses end week in red

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – passed another week witnessing loss of share prices indices on Thursday (October 20), the fifth and final trading day of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of DSE, shed over 10.07 points or 0.21 percent to stand at 4692.43 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 127,626 with transaction at over Tk 5007.58 million. Of the issues traded, 110 advanced, 156 declined and 59 remained unchanged.

Fortune Shoes Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 486.08 million having changed hands on the day.

Other toppers of the market were Doreen Power Generations and Systems Limited, National Bank Ltd., Titas Gas Transmission & Dist. Co. Ltd., Singer Bangladesh Limited, Paramount Textile Limited, Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd., GSP Finance Company (Bangladesh) Limited, Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd. and National Tubes Limited.

Meanwhile, the CSE also followed the trend as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 28.08 points to stand at 8763.39 on Thursday.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 94 gained, 129 declined and 31 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 390.85 million on the day.
