Markets see deflation Tuesday

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – witnessed loss in share price indices on Tuesday (October 25), the third trading session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 11.8 points or 0.26 percent to stand at 4681.86 points at 13:04 pm.

Trade deals stood at 142,351 with a transaction over Tk 6094.44 million. Of the issues traded, 129 advanced, 167 declined and 37 remained unchanged.

Doreen Power Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 412.15 million having changed hands.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also following the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 13.51 points to stand at 8756.524 points on the day.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 99 gained, 130 declined and 26 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 344.22 million.
