DHAKA: The Second Boeing 737-800 aircraft of US-Bangla Airlines, country’s leading premium airline, arrived safely at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Friday morning (October 28).
Dilruba Parvin, Deputy Managing Director of US-Bangla Airlines Ltd. received the aircraft at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 9:30 am.
Among other guests who attended the receiving program M G Tawhid, Executive Director; Mashiul Azam, Director Flight Operation; Imamul Majid, Director Engineering and high officials of US-Bangla Airlines Ltd were also present here at the airport.
With the newly added 158-seater Boeing 737-800 aircraft in its fleet, the airline will be able to connect many more international destinations in the upcoming days, says a press release issued by the airline in the morning.
US-Bangla started its inaugural flight on July 17 of 2014 with 76-seater Dash8-Q400 aircraft.
The induction of new Boeing 737-800 jet raised the number of US-Bangla’s aircraft to five.
Newly added Boeing 737-800 aircraft has 158 revenue seats each including eight business class and Dash8-Q400 aircraft 76 seats each.
The airline has so far successfully operated over 17,000 flights in the domestic and Dhaka-Kathmandu route.
US-Bangla started its operation with the motto “fly fast-fly safe”. To expand its operation further into the international arena, the management of US-Bangla is set to procure one more new Boeing 737-800 aircraft out of which one will be arriving Bangladesh in December this year.
Each aircraft will possess four lavatories to facilitate the passengers’ comfort.
The management of the airline has decided to operate regular scheduled flights to Kolkata, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Singapore, Muscat, Doha, Guangzhou and many more international destinations with these Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
US-Bangla received ‘Best Airline of the Year-2015’ award for its operation in the domestic sector by the renowned travel based newspaper of Bangladesh, The Bangladesh Monitor.
US-Bangla Airlines maintains an impeccable standard of service equipped with incomparable reliability and flying comfort with in-flight service of international standard, and reached the milestone for best on-time performance, which is about 98.7 percent.
To facilitate its passengers further beyond flying, it also maintains a frequent flyer program named ‘Sky Star’, added the release.
