MBL, BTCL sign deal for telephone bill collection

DHAKA: Mercantile Bank Limited (MBL) has recently signed an agreement with Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) for collection of Telephone Bills through Online Banking System.

A signing ceremony was organized for this purpose at the bank’s head office in Dhaka on Sunday, says a press release.

Managing Director and CEO of MBL Kazi Masihur Rahman and BTCL Managing Director Mohammed Kabir Hossain Bhuiyan signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. 

Under this agreement, BTCL subscribers will be able to pay their telephone bills through all MBL branches.

Additional managing director Monindra Kumar Nath, deputy managing directors Mohammad Ismail and GWM Mortaza, senior executive vice-presidents Md. Zakir Hossain, Shamim Ahmed and AKM Atiqur Rahman and Vice-President & Head of Uttara Branch Md. Farid Ahmed of Mercantile Bank Limited and member (Finance) Md. Abu Sayeed Khan, FCA; Member (maintenance & operation) Maududul Haq; General Manager (DTR South) Khan Ataur Rahman; director (finance) Mazharul Islam; director (revenue-1) Md. Masud Hasan, director (revenue-2) Sawkat Ali Miah of BTCL and other senior officials of both the organizations were also present here.
