DHAKA: The government aimed to procure Aman-rice from the farmers at Tk 33 per kg in this season.
The decision came from a meeting of Food Planning and Monitoring Committee (FPMC) at city’s secretariat Sunday noon (November 27).
Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam briefed the media in the regard at a press conference after the meeting.
The government will start purchasing from Thursday (December 1) and will continue till March 15 next year.
