DHAKA: Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BWCCI), an affiliated organization of the FBCCI, has been awarded the 7th Local Chamber Award in the Big Category.
BWCCI President Selima Ahmad received the award at the 30th Conference of the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) on November23-25 in Taiwan’s Taipei.
President of CACCI Jemal Inaishvili handed over award at the Conference organized by CACCI in cooperation with the Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA) and the Chinese National Association of Industry and Commerce, Taiwan (CNAIC).
A 12-member Business delegation of Bangladesh led by FBCCI President Abdul Matlub Ahmad attended at the Conference, said a press release.
CACCI is a regional organization of apex national chambers of commerce and industry and business associations representing the interest of some 3.5 million-business enterprises in Asia and the Pacific.
Established in 1966, it serves as a forum for promoting vital role of the businessmen in the Asia and Western Pacific region, increasing regional business interaction and enhancing regional economic growth.
CACCI has Primary Members (national chambers of commerce & industry and associations) from 27 countries, including Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Georgia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
Selima Ahmad, President of BWCCI also chaired the Sectoral Roundtable Discussion at the two day’s Conference.
Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry has also been awarded a Certificate of appreciation for their commendable service.
Besides, Rahimafrooz Renewable Energy Limited has got Honorable Mention Award in the 2nd CACCI Hydropower and Clean Energy Excellence Award 2016 in the Conference.
