DHAKA: The two bourses of the country – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – witnessed gain in share prices indices on Thursday (December 1), the last trading day of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of DSE, gained over 21.78 points or 0.45 percent to stand at 4823.02 points at the end of days trading.
Trade deals stood at 163,952 with transaction at over Tk 8034.53 million. Of the issues traded, 149 advanced, 123 declined while 51 remained unchanged.
Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 485.75 million having changed hands.
The other toppers are Shasha Denims Limited, Bangladesh Building Systems Ltd., The Peninsula Chittagong Limited, Ratanpur Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited, Olympic Accessories Limited, Quasem Drycells Ltd., National Tubes Limited, IFAD Autos Limited and Doreen Power Generations and Systems Limited.
The CSE also followed the trend as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gained over 35.51 points to stand at 9023.26.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 124 advanced, 91 declined while 41 remained unchanged.
The total value of exchange was over Tk 535.90 million.
