DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed gain in share price indices for the second week on the trot on Wednesday (January 5).
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gained over 25.64 points or 0.69 percent to stand at 5182.24 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 203,850 with transaction over Tk 12454.94 million. Of the issues traded, 147 advanced, 138 declined and 41 remained unchanged.
Bangladesh Export and Import Company Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 557.03 million having changed hands on the day.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gain over 58.38 points to stand at 9644.24 points on the day.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 119 gained, 118 declined and 24 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 734.16 million.
