DHAKA: Biman Bangladesh Airlines has won the prestigious `Foreign Airline of the year-2015’ from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Malaysia.
KLIA Management, based on highest passenger carried between Kuala Lumpur and South Asia sectors, gave the award, said a press release.
Country Manager of Biman to the Malaysia Mohammed Salahuddin received the award recently from YB Dato’ Seri LiowTiong Lai, Malaysian Transport minister, at a grand gala dinner awards ceremony held in Kuala Lumpur.
KLIA is one of the busiest airports in the world. It handled around 4.90 crore passengers and around 3.54 lakh flights in 2015.
This coveted award and honor for Biman Bangladesh Airlines is an example of the Biman’s growing business and services in south-east Asia sectors.
It is also mentionable that Biman earned this rare feat ‘Foreign airline of the year’ award from KLIA also in 2011 and 2014.
