DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed gain in share price indices on Sunday (January 15), on the first day of the trade week.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gained over 79.91 points or 1.49 percent to stand at 5422.79 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 248,943 with transaction over Tk 16590.80 million. Of the issues traded, 213 advanced, 99 declined and 16 remained unchanged.
The Bangladesh Export Import Company Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 989.89 million having changed hands on the day.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gain over 151.97 points to stand at 10101.53 points on the day.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 183 gained, 73 declined and 18 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 1,067.06 million.
