DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- are witnessing loss in share price indices in the opening hours on Thursday (January 19), the fifth and final trading session of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 56.41 points or 1.01 percent to stand at 5477.08 points at 12:43 pm.
Trade deals stood at 122,290 with a transaction over Tk 7522.47 million. Of the issues traded, 66 advanced, 242 declined and 13 remained unchanged.
Bangladesh Export Import Company Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 376.86 million having changed hands till then.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 108.98 points to stand at 10179.11 points till 12:36 pm.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 34 gained, 189 declined and 8 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 375.32 million till filing the report.
