DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed gain in share price indices on Sunday (January 22), on the first day of the trade week.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gained over 68.78 points or 1.24 percent to stand at 5602.84 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 244,333 with transaction over Tk 16,683.84 million. Of the issues traded, 224 advanced, 78 declined and 26 remained unchanged.
The Baraka Power Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 653.46 million having changed hands on the day.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gain over 219.50 points to stand at 10506.08 points on the day.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 193 gained, 55 declined and 20 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 1,000.24 million.
