DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed loss in share price indices on Sunday (January 29), on the first day of the trade week.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 117.79 points or 2.09 percent to stand at 5500.85 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 194,678 with transaction over Tk 11371.53 million. Of the issues traded, 47 advanced, 275 declined and 5 remained unchanged.
The Bangladesh Export Import Company Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 575.39 million having changed hands on the day.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, shed over 247.06 points to stand at 10301.91 points on the day.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 38 gained, 219 declined and 6 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 680.72 million.
