Markets see mixed in opening hours

DHAKA: The investors at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) are witnessing loss in share price indices in the opening hours on Monday (January 30), the second trading session of the week while those invested at Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) are witnessing gain.

DSEX, the prime index of DSE, shed over 2.25 points or 0.04 percent to stand at 5498.59 points at 12:49 pm.

Trade deals stood at 107,822 with a transaction over Tk 6336.99 million. Of the issues traded, 134 advanced, 168 declined and 22 remained unchanged.

Baraka Power Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 391.56 million having changed hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), however saw upward trend, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city market, gained over 23.49 points to stand at 10325.40 points till 12:46 pm.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 99 gained, 115 declined and 16 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 339.65 million till filing the report.
