BENAPOLE (JESSORE): Export-import trade between Bangladesh and India through Benapole-Petrapole land ports was halted Saturday (February 4) following a strike enforced by a section of traders at Petrapole in India.
The strike started around 11am. However, the movement of passengers with passports remained normal.
Benapole port superintend Shariful Islam told Banglanews that the small traders of Petrapole port called the strike in protest of an order by higher authorities that said big traders will get priority in releasing goods.
No goods-laden truck entered the port since morning, he added.
