Border has to be opened for dynamic economy: Inu Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu speaking at ‘Cross Border Business Dialogue’

DHAKA: Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on Friday (March 3) said more tolerant and free trans-border business communication policy is essential for a vibrant and multi-dimensional economy.

He made the comment in a view exchange meeting titled ‘Cross Border Business Dialogue’, organized by Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI), at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka.

The meeting was organized on the second day of three-day BD Expo and Dialogue-2017, organized by Exponet Exhibition (Pvt) Ltd. on March 2.

The minister further said Bangladesh needs to improve relationship with India and China to strengthen the economy. Land, air and waterways have to be opened to take advantage of the neighboring economies otherwise we would lag behind.

“Forgetting past relations, we have to modify our foreign policies in an economy-friendly way to solve the bipartisan issues.”

Former industries minister Dilip Barua, who was also present at the meeting, said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina showed positive concern towards the ‘One Belt, One Road’ cross-border communication policy. The economy will flourish if the government approves it.”

BCCCI president Golam Dastagir Gazi presided over the meeting while BCCCI advisor Salman F Rahman, Jahangirnagar University International Relations Department’s Professor Dr. Abul Kalam Azad and many others spoke at the meeting.
