DHAKA: Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) chairman Iqbal Mahmood on Friday (March 10) remarked banking sector is the most corrupted institution in the country.
He made this remark at an anti-corruption human chain in front of the National Press Club.
A total of 22,000 educational institutions across the country formed the human chain simultaneously from 10 am to 11 am.
“ACC is not powerful enough to eradicate corruption from all sectors, but the ruling government is trying its best to ensure a corruption free Bangladesh,” said the chairman.
He further said that ACC has taken initiatives to uproot corruption from education, health and land sectors and passport directorate.
Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid, ACC commissioners Dr. Nasiruddin and ASM Aminul Islam, ACC secretary Abu Md. Mustafa, ACC director general Munir Chowdhury and student-teacher-guardian from different schools of Dhaka participated in the demonstration.
