DHAKA: PRAN-RFL Group has created some 18,000 jobs in the Habiganj Industrial Park (HIP) in the last three years which contributed to the socioeconomic development of the adjacent areas.
This industrial park will create more jobs especially for the young people in the upcoming days, said a press release issued by the group on Monday (March 13).
Kamruzzaman Kamal, director (marketing) at PRAN-RFL Group, was addressing at a view exchange meeting with Habiganj journalists at the conference room of the industrial park in the morning.
“The area has witnessed a massive socioeconomic development due to the establishment of the industrial park. Eighty percent of total staff are local while 55 percent are women,” Kamruzzaman said.
He also said: “PRAN-RFL Group’s factory started its journey in March, 2014. Presently the factory has 37 production lines and 8-10 lines will be added by next year which will create jobs for 5,000-7,000 people.”
HM Manjurul Islam, general manager of HIP said that PRAN-RFL Group is working not only to create employment here but also working to extend scope of education.
“For this reason, the group has established a school in the area. Now 600 students are studying here. Moreover, we give scholarships to meritorious students of some schools of the area. Various activities, including construction of roads, are going on for smooth movement of the local people which will be continued in the future.”
President of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists and CEO of Ekushey TV Monjurul Ahsan Bubul was present at the program. He shared his experience as journalist with local journalists.
Fazle Rabbi, general manager (RFL-administration); Ehsanul Habib, senior manager (PRAN-administration) at HIP and Zeaul Haque, manager communication at PRAN-RFL Group also spoke on the occasion.
The industrial park was set up on 217 acres of land. Candy, liquid glucose, biscuit, beverage, confectionery, electric cable, fan, melamine, plastic and PVC products, bicycle, textiles, toiletries & medical appliance are being produced at the industrial zone.
At present, PRAN-RFL Group is exporting its processed foods and plastic products to 134 countries across the globe.
