DHAKA: The price of sugar increased by Tk. 13 a kilogram in the retail market in span of a week.

The price was Tk. 62 a week ago. Now the price of per kilogram sugar is Tk. 75.

It was alleged that the price was hiked by the mill owners in the whole-sell markets in a planned way ahead of the Ramzan. The price hike of the whole-sell market brought impacts in the retail market.

The commerce ministry is dissatisfied over the price hike of the sugar ahead of the Ramzan.
