DHAKA: Bangladesh has set an export target of $41 billion for the 2017-18 fiscal year with an increase of 1.35 percent from the last year.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed made the announcement on Sunday (July 30) by setting target $37 billion for the business sector and $ 3 billion for the service sector.
In the previous fiscal year (2016-17), export target was fixed at $3.7 billion. However, a total of $3.48 billion worth of products were exported which was 6 percent less than the set target. The last fiscal was the six consecutive year where target was not achieved.
