DHAKA: Minhaj Mannan Emon, managing director of BLE Securities Limited, has been elected as the shareholder-director of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).

The vote casting was held from 10:00am to 4:00pm at DSE boardroom on Tuesday (March 20). A total of 220 out of 256 voters voted in the polls. 

The chief election commissioner Supreme Court retd justice Md Abdus Samad said Minhaj Mannan received 127 votes while his closest contender Ahmed Iqbal Hasan, CEO of Hasan Securities, got 69 votes. 

Winner Emon will serve as the shareholder director of DSE for the next three years. He will replace Shakil Rizvi.
