DHAKA: Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has fixed the price of local beef to Tk 450 per kilogram, foreign beef to Tk 420, buffalo to Tk 420 and mutton to Tk 720 in Dhaka during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
Beef price has increased Tk 25 per kg compared to previous year’s rate.
The decision was taken at a meeting between DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon and Bangladesh Meat Traders' Association at Nagar Bhaban in the city on Monday (May 14).
Like every year, DSCC has fixed meat prices. If anyone found selling meat beyond fixed prices, punishment is applicable to them, said DSCC Mayor.
DSCC gave some directives to meat traders to follow: Slaughter animals in a healthy and harmful way, not to sell stale meat, use digital machines for measuring the weight of the meat in the store, keep environment clean, and keep meat price chart displayed in a visible area.
