DHAKA: A notice issued by the Bangladesh Bank, upon direction from the Public Administration Ministry, said that all the banks and financial institutions in Gazipur City Corporation area will remain closed Tuesday (June 26) due to election. 

Copies of the notice were sent to the chief executives of the banks Sunday (June 24).

The Public Administration Ministry generally announce the day of voting as a public holiday in the polling area, to facilitate the voters for exercising their franchises.

However, the polls to Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) will be held on Tuesday.
