DHAKA: Travel & Tourism Fair (TTF), the oldest and one of the biggest travel trade shows in India held in the city of Kolkata at the Netaji Indoor Stadium and the adjacent Khudiram Anushilan Kendra on July 6-8, 2018, said a press release.
TTF Kolkata has been always receiving large number of buyers and sellers from Bangladesh. More than 430 exhibitors from 28 Indian states and 13 countries participated in the Fair.
Thousands of travel and trade members visit the show in the first one and half days reserved for the trade. An even larger of visitors from around the Indian visited the show in the remaining one and a half days of the show.
TTF Kolkata 2018 inaugurated on 6 July, 2018. Dignitaries to grace the occasion were Mr. A. K. M. Shahjahan Kamal, Minister - Department of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Government of Bangladesh, Mr. Atri Bhattacharya, IASPrincipal Secretary - Department of Tourism, Government of WestBengal, Ms. Venus Asawapoom, Deputy Consul General - Royal Thai Consulate-General, Kolkata, Mr. Mani Raj Lamichhane, Director - NepalTourism Board, Mr. Masayuki Taga, Consul General - Consul General of Japan, Kolkata, Mr. Toufique Hasan, Deputy High Commissioner - Bangladesh Deputy High Commission, Kolkata, Mr. Nikhil Ranjan Roy, CEO - BangladeshTourism Board, Mr. Eaknarayan Aryal, Consul General - Consulate General of Nepal, Kolkata. Apart from them Tourism Industry Leader and Businessman from Bangladesh and India together also participated in the event.
Bangladesh Tourism Minister Mr. AKM Shajahan Kamal said both India and his country have taken steps to ensure easy and hurdle-free travel for the tourists. He also said that the two countries have taken measures to increase connectivity through roads, rail and air, facilitating tourists from India to visit Bangladesh easily. He also added that a Tourist Haab will be created to ensure the easy access and exchange of history, culture, heritage and beauty among the SAARC Countries.
A delegation team from Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) consisting of 13 TOAB Members participated in TTK Kolkata led the TOAB President Mr. Taufiq Uddin Ahmed in association with Bangladesh Tourism Board. TOAB Director & CEO of Journey Plus Mr. Taufiq Rahman, Mr. Emrul Hossain Emon, CEO of Creative Tours & Travels, Mr. Md Moniruzzaman Masum, CEO of Tourism Window, Mr. Md. Shariful Islam, CEO of Vision Holidays, Mr. S. M. Maksudul Islam Masum, CEO of Tourist Guide BD, Mr. Md. Alamgir Hossain, CEO of A1 Tours & Travels and Representatives from Ajiyer and Beyond Adventure and Tourism participated in TTF Kolkata 2018 from TOAB as Co-Exhibitor. Apart from them a number of TOAB Members participated in the fair as Trade Visitors. TOAB Members participated in the fair every year and help increasing inbound tourism in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh High Commission in Kolkata hosted a dinner in the honor of the Participants in TTF Kolkata 2018 from Bangladesh. Bangladesh Tourism Minister Mr. AKM Shajahan Kamal, TOAB President Mr. Taufiq Uddin Ahmed, TOAB Vice President Mr. Md Iftakhar Aalm Bhuiyan (Rasel), TOAB Director (PR) Mr. Md Shohanur Rahman Swapan, TOAB Director (Media & Publication) Mr. Syed Shafat Uddin Ahmed Tomal, TOAB Director Mr. Taufiq Rahman, TOAB Members and all the visitors from Bangladesh were present in the dinner.
The pavilion of the Bangladesh Tourism Board where TOAB Members showcase their products won the Excellence Award at the TTF Kolkata 2018. The Bangladesh Tourism Board Pavilion was made at the likings of the Kantaji Temple located in Dinajpur District in Bangladesh. All the visitors like and praised the pavilion with great enthusiasm.
