DHAKA: Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, in association with bKash Limited, the largest mobile financial service provider in the country, has now expanded its book reading program at Rangpur and Lalmonirhat to enlighten the future generations through reading habit.
The book distribution program held at RCCI Public School and College of Rangpur and Karim Uddin Public Pilot High School, of Kaliganj, Lalmonirhat. Noted children’s writer Ali Imam, bKash’s General Manager on Regulatory and Corporate Affairs Humayun Kabir were present on the occasions.
bKash has been supporting the ‘Nationwide Enrichment (Book Reading) Program’ of Bishwo Shahitto Kendro since 2014 and provided around 178, 000 books to the program.
bKash believes in the philosophy of improving the lives of the common mass by providing mobile financial services at an affordable cost, in most secured and convenient way. The focus is to bring the unbanked population into formal financial activities to help the economy of Bangladesh at large. In conformity with its effort, bKash believes that the society can be enlightened through well-read people who would have broadened vision to contribute in different fields of development of the country. In its persistent effort to see the infusion of ‘Enlightenment’ and ‘Development’, bKash would continue to support the initiative of ‘Book Distribution’ of Bishwo Shahitto Kendro in the years to come.
Bishwo Shahitto Kendro has been carrying out various outreach programs for school and college students in the last 40 years with a dream of building an enlightened society. The nationwide enrichment program (Book Reading) is the most prominent program of the organisation with raging success. Currently, the book reading program covers around 200,000 students of 2,000 educational institutions across the country.
Launched in 2011, bKash, a joint venture of BRAC Bank, US based Money in Motion, World Bank’s private sector investment farm, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and China based Ant Financial(Ali Pay) , an affiliate of Alibaba Group offers broad range of mobile financial services to the common people of Bangladesh.
