DHAKA: Stocks witnessed downward trend on Tuesday (Dec 11), extending the losing streak for the fourth consecutive sessions.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 19.93 points or 0.37 percent to stand at 5,275.76 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 131,375 with transaction at over Tk 4,834.63 million. Of the issues traded, 100 advanced, 202 declined and 39 remained unchanged.
VFS Thread Dying Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 234.07 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market were SK Trims & Industries Ltd, JMI Syringes & Medical Devices Ltd, Khulna Power Company Limited, Rupali Life Insurance Company Ltd, Sonali Aansh Industries Limited, Wata Chemicals Limited, National Tea Company Ltd, National Tubes Limited and IBN SINA Pharmacutical Industry Ltd.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CASPI, the overall index of the port city bourse, lost over 40.43 points to stand at 16,162.89 points on the day.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 70 gained, 142 declined and 30 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 197.52 million.
