DHAKA: The two bourses of the country – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – passed this week witnessing loss of share prices indices on Thursday (Dec 13), the last trading session of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of DSE, shed over 14.82 points or 0.28 percent to stand at 5,251.01 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 129,271 with transaction at over Tk 4,996.97 million. Of the issues traded, 112 advanced, 183 declined and 44 remained unchanged.
Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 486.08 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market were United Power Generation & Distribution Company Ltd, JMI Syringes and Medical Devices Ltd, Wata Chemicals Limited, Meghna Life Insurance Co. Ltd, Al-Haj Textile Mills Ltd, National Tea Company Ltd, Rupali Life Insurance Ltd, Olympic Industries Ltd and IFAD Autos Limited.
Meanwhile, the CSE also followed the trend as CASPI, the overall share index of the port city bourse, lost over 35.02 points to stand at 16,125.58 on Thursday.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 93 gained, 120 declined and 39 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk. 2,553.96 million on the day.
