DHAKA: The two bourses of the country – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – finished this week with moderate gain on Thursday (Jan 3), the last trading session of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of DSE, rose over 94.03 points or 1.71 percent to stand at 5,590.47 points at the end of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 212,095 with transaction at over Tk 9,249.09 million. Of the issues traded, 303 advanced, 33 declined and 9 remained unchanged.
Saiham Cotton Mills Ltd topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 333.18 million having changed hands on the day.
Other toppers of the market were Bangladesh Export Import Company Ltd, BBS Cables Limited, Paramount Textile Mills Ltd, United Power Generation & Distribution Company Ltd, JMI Syringes and Medical Devices Ltd, Shepherd Industries Limited, IFAD Autos Limited, Khulna Power Company Limited and Intech Limited.
Meanwhile, the CSE also followed the trend as CASPI, the overall share index of the port city bourse, climbed up 302.88 points to stand at 17,166.87 on Thursday.
Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 237 gained, 26 declined and 12 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 702.07 million on the day.
