DHAKA: The country’s both bourses– Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) — closed on Tuesday (Jan 8) with positive tune observing a winning spell throughout the session.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 115.58 points or 2.04 percent to reach 5,770.77 points at the closing of the day’s trading.
Of the issues traded on the day, 218 gained, 67 declined and 39 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 10100.32 million changed hands in the second trading session of the week.
BRAC Bank Ltd was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 230 million changing hands followed by JMISMDL, BEXIMCO, ALIF, OLYMPIC, UPGDCL, ACTIVEFINE, IFADAUTOS, BBSCABLES and DHAKABANK.
Similarly, the CSE Overall Share Index, CASPI increased 2.32 percent to stand at 17,707.78 points.
Of the 280 issues traded, 188 advanced, 72 suffered and 20 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 738.49 million were traded on the day.
