DHAKA: State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Mahbub Ali said the government has taken projects involving Tk 1,300 crore to develop the country’s tourism industry.
“The government has taken the projects to turn the tourism industry into one of the key sources of economic progression and creating more employment. The money will be spent for infrastructural development and creating skilled human resources for the sector,” Mahbub Ali said.
The minister was exchanging views with officials at the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC) headquarters in Mohakhali on Thursday (January 17).
“The government has embarked upon a mega plan to make Bangladesh as one of the most tourist destinations in Asia,” the minister also said, urging officials to work with honesty and sincerity.
