DHAKA: Trading on the country’s both bourses-- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – ended in positive tune on Tuesday (Jan 22) amid investors’ optimism after a correction session.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 6.15 points or 0.10 percent to reach 5865.46 points at the closing of the day’s trading.
Of the issues traded on the day, 95 gained, 224 declined and 27 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 8,906.63 million changed hands on the third trading session of the week.
Premier Bank Ltd was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 606.89 million changing hands followed by UPGDCL, SQUAREPHARMA, DHAKABANK, BSCCL, SAIHAMCOT, SHURWID, FEKDIL, BANGAS and IFIC.
Similarly, the CSE key index, CSCX advanced 0.54 percent to stand at 1,311.74 points.
Of the issues traded, 97 advanced, 155 suffered and 16 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 359.52 million were traded on the day.
