DHAKA: Dhaka International Trade Fair 2019 on Friday, the third weekend of the fair, saw a huge flock of visitors in its venue at Sher-e Bangla Nagar in city.
Traders were seen happy and expressed their satisfaction noticing the huge influx of crowds coming from different parts of the capital and its adjacent areas.
Sheikh Noyan, manager of Aparupa Gift House, said huge buyers visited his stall on Friday. Although many visitors were seen roaming on the fairground throughout the week, but we can sell highest number of products on Friday and Saturday, the weekly holidays.
Kurti and Gown drew much attention of female visitors in the fair this year, he added.
Hasan, a private job holder who came from Char Fashion of Bhola, said “Being a job holder, I can not visit the fair other days of the week. As today is a holiday, I have come to shopping. It is also family outing. I have also managed a two-day leave to visit the fair along with family members.”
Ovi Biswas, a student of Jagannath University who came to attend the fair with his friends said they came to the fair for buying some essentials and hangout with friends.
He also mentioned that the fair draw their attention for discounts offered by different stalls as well as quality products and reasonable price.
According to the sources at Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), the 24th edition of the fair has been arranged over a 1.25 million square foot-area, where a total of 605 stalls and pavilions have been set up in the fair venue.
Of those, 110 are premium pavilions, 83 mini pavilions, 20 reserved pavilions and 412 food stalls.
Different organizations from Thailand, Turkey, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Nepal, China, Malaysia, the United States, the United Kingdom, India, Pakistan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mauritius, South Korea, South Africa, Germany, Swaziland, Australia and Japan are participating in the fair.
The fair remain open for visitors from 10am to 10 pm up to February 8.
The price of entry ticket, Taka 30 for adults and Taka 20 for underage, has been fixed.
