DHAKA: The Bangladesh Jewellers’ Samity (BJS) on Monday (Jan 28) decided to increase the price of gold.
According to the new rate, price of per gram gold has been increased by Tk 1,166 per bhori (11.664 grams).
The new rate will be effective from Tuesday (Jan 29), says a press release signed by BJS general secretary Dilip Kumar.
Gold in the local market will be sold at Tk 50,155 per bhori of 22-carat from Tuesday.
In the release, BJS said that the newly fixed prices of different carats of gold are: a bhori of 21-carat gold is Tk 47,822, 18-carat Tk 42,807, and the traditional gold price remained unchanged.
