DHAKA: Key share price indices at the country's twin bourses - Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - witnessed gain on Tuesday (Jan 29).
DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 20.30 points or 0.34 per cent to close at 5,924.53.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced by 2.17 points or 0.16 percent to 1331.62.
But, the DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also went down by 0.47 points or 0.02 percent to stand at 2,046.29 points.
Of the issues traded, 101 gained, 162 declined and 45 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 9458.59 million changed hands at the DSE, riding on Bank, Telecommunication and General Insurance sectors
Eastern Housing Limited was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 349.82 million changed hands followed by United Power General & Distribution Company, Premier Bank, Grameenphone and National Polymer Industries.
The port city bourse - Chittagong Stocks Exchange (CSE) - also witnessed an upward trend with its Overall Share Index gaining 46 points to 18,190.64.
Of the issues 273 traded till then, 114 gained, 126 declined and 33 remained unchanged with turnover value of Tk 377.38 million.
