DHAKA: British American Tobacco Group (BAT) has appointed Rumana Rahman as the Asia Pacific & Middle East Head of HR.

The appointment will be effective from Feb 15, said a press release Wednesday (Feb 6). 

She is the first Bangladesh to be appointed as such. Prior to this role, Rumana Rahman served as the HR Head at BAT Bangladesh for 7 years. 

Rumana Rahman started her career in BAT Bangladesh as a Management Trainee. 

She was also the Regional HR Planning & Reporting Manager of the Asia Pacific Region based in Hong Kong and is the first woman to be the Top Team Member of BAT Bangladesh.
