DHAKA: The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed slight gain in early trade on Tuesday (Mar 5), the third trading session of the week.
After one and half an hour of trading, the key index of the country's major bourse gained 17.83 point up while the Selective Category Index of the port city bourse rose 5.09 point.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 17.83 points or 0.31 percent to 5700 points at 12:06 pm.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also gained 4.92 points or 0.21 percent to stand at 2,282.99 points.
But, the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) shed over 6.37 points or 0.31 percent to reach at 1,998.07 points.
Turnover stands at Tk 2215 million on the DSE, riding on Premier Bank and Monno Ceramics.
Premier Bank Limited dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 144.88 million changing hands till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 143 advanced, 132 declined and 55 issues remained unchanged.
However, the port city bourse, the CSE, saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX - advancing 5.09 points to stand at 1275.92 also at 12:04 pm.
Of the issues traded till then, 54 gained, 56 declined and 26 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 60.48 million.
