DHAKA: Bangladesh’s main bourse – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) -closed in marginal green zone amid active participation of investors in sector specific stocks especially from bank, fuel & power sectors.
DSEX, the benchmark index of the DSE, advanced 5.07 points or 0.08 percent only to 5,687.48 at the close of Tuesday’s (Mar 5) trading.
The other index, DS30, also edged higher. The DS30 comprising blue chips rose over 4.20 points or 0.21 per cent to close at 1,995.90.
However, the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) lost 5 points or 0.38 per cent to close at 1,304.19.
Trade deals stood at 127,976 with volume of transactions at Tk 5,751.89 million which was a mentionable decrease from the previous session.
Turnover at the Dhaka Stock Exchange, the main bourse of the country, has stood Tk 6,820.19 million on Monday (Mar 4).
Of the issues traded, 139 issues advanced, 137 declined and 52 remained unchanged on the DSE.
The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were DUTCHBANGL, SAFKOSPINN, NPOLYMAR, EBL and MONNOCERA.
Top five losers of the day were PARAMOUNT, DBH, PROVATIINS, IPDC and AGRANINS.
But, the port city bourse, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed in red zone with its Selective Categories Index - CSCX - losing -0.13 points to settle at 1,270.70.
Of the issues traded, 62 issues advanced, 152 declined and 33 remained unchanged on the CSE.
The port city bourse saw 6.28 million shares and mutual fund units worth over Tk 195.44 million traded.
