DHAKA: Both the bourses -Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed positive trends in the early hours of trading on Thursday, the last session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 21.52 points or 0.38 percent to stand at 5674.74 at 12:28 pm.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 5.06 points or 0.39 percent to stand at 1,297 points.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also advanced 17.40 points or 0.86 percent to stand at 2022.89 points.

Trade deals stood at 57,286 with transaction at over Tk 2,537.70 million on the DSE.
 
Of the issues traded till then, 120 advanced, 153 declined and 64 issues remained unchanged. 

Tobacco American Bangladesh Company Ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 341.48 million changing hands till then followed by BRACBANK, DUTCHBANGL and MONNOCERA.

The port city bourse also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX-advancing 40.44 points or 0.38 percent to stand at 10,536.70 points, also at 12:23 pm.

Of the issues traded till then, 47 gained, 106 declined and 27 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 90.92 million.
