DHAKA: The prices of the shares on both bourses --Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) --witnessed negative trend in early trading on Thursday (Mar 21), last trading session of the week.
After first one and half hours of trading, DSEX, the key index of the country’s prime bourse, declined 8.51 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse lost 27.05 points at 12:22pm.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went down by 8.51 points or 0.15 per cent to stand at 5,592.04 points at 12:22pm.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, fell 2.51 points or 0.12 percent to reach at 2,003.07 points till then.
The DSE Shariah Index shed over 0.98 points or 0.07 percent to stand at 1288.72 points at that time.
Turnover, the important indicator of the market, stood at Tk 1,697.13 million on DSE till filling of the report.
British American Tobaco Bangladesh Company Lt was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth Tk million changing hands.
Of the issues traded till then, 134 advanced, 143 declined, and 56 remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also saw an downward trend till then with CASPI losing 27.05 points or 0.15 percent to stand at 17,139.75 points, also at 12:24pm.
Of the 162 issues traded till then, 49 gained, 95 declined and 18 issues remained unchanged with Tk 33.48 million in turnover.
