DHAKA: All share price indices in the country’s both bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – started this week in red on Sunday (March 24).
DSE turnover has reached Tk 3,543.51 million changed hands while previous session’s turnover was Tk 3,909.90 million.
DSEX, the DSE benchmark index, went down by 58.07 points or 1.04 percent, to reach 5,512 at the close of day’s trading.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also advanced 2.59 points or 0.20 per cent to close at 1,281.83.
The DS30 comprising blue chips shed over 20.73 points or 1.04 per cent to close at 1,972 points.
Of the issues traded, 94 gained, 206 declined and 43 remained unchanged.
BRAC Bank Ltd topped the chart of turnover leaders with a value of Tk 218.56 million followed by United Power Generation and Distribution Co, Dutch Bangla Bank Limited, Grameenphone and British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company.
The day’s top five losers at the DSE were BANKASIA, RUPALILIFE, BRACBANK, MERCINS and DHAKAINS.
The CSE overall share index, CSAPI, also went down by 220 points or 1.28 percent to reach 16,888.87 at the close today.
Of the 246 issues traded, 61 advanced, 150 suffered loss and 35 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues was Tk 104.98 million on Sunday.
