DHAKA: The key share price indices at the country’s twin bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- returned to positive trend on Monday (March 25) after three days' losing streak.
DSE turnover has reached Tk 3,857.76 million changed hands while previous session’s turnover was Tk 3,543.51 million.
DSEX, the DSE benchmark index, went up by 17.99 points or 0.32 percent, to reach 5,530 at the close of day’s trading.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also advanced 4.49 points or 0.35 per cent to close at 1,286.
The DS30 comprising blue chips rose over 7.81 points or 0.39 per cent to close at 1,980 points.
Of the issues traded, 184 advanced, 111 suffered loss and 50 remained unchanged.
Singer Bangladesh topped in the chart of turnover leaders the at Dhaka bourse while other companies were Grameenphone, United Power Generation and Distribution Ltd and British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company.
Top five gainers at the DSE were ALARABANK, CONFIDCEM, PHENIXINS, MATINSPINN and BANKASIA.
The overall share index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), CASPI gained 7.70 points or 0.04 percent to reach 16,896.58 at close on Monday.
Of the 227 issues traded, 114 advanced, 84 suffered loss and 29 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues at the port city bourse was Tk 147.83 crore on the day.
