DHAKA: Both the bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed negative trends in the early hours of trading on Wednesday (March 27).
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went down by 22.01 points or 0.39 percent to stand at 5,508 at 12:48 pm.
The two other indices at DSE also edged lower. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) lost 4.07 points or 0.31 percent to stand at 1,282 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also declined 10.42 points or 0.52 percent to stand at 1,969.65 points.
Trade deals stood at 52,782 with transaction at over Tk 1,846.76 million on the DSE.
Of the issues traded till then, 131 advanced, 154 declined and 58 issues remained unchanged.
Monno Ceramics Ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 181.24 million changing hands till then followed by British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company and Singer Bangladesh.
The port city bourse also saw negative trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX – declining 14.67 points to stand at 16881.90 points, also at 12:58 pm.
Of the 160issues traded till then, 61 gained, 62 declined and 37 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 173.56 million.

RS
