DHAKA: Vice Chairman of the country’s largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group Safwan Sobhan categorically said the world is now experiencing the era of fourth industrial revolution and it’s not artificial.
“Therefore, we have to move forward accepting the challenges of this era”, he added.
Safwan Sobhan, also the managing director (MD) of one-stop IT solution provider Toggi Services Ltd (TSL), was speaking at the launching program of a joint initiative of TSL and Microsoft, held at Radisson hotel in Dhaka Saturday (March 30) afternoon.
The initiative was taken for making developments in ready-made garment sector.
“Now this is the time for bringing changes. The matter of transforming into digitalization and the era of fourth industrial revolution are no longer artificial, rather we are now going through this period. We will move forward taking the necessary ways to make the changes effective,” said the Toggi MD.
The program was also addressed by Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun as the chief guest.
Focusing on various technological advancements, Safwan Sobhan said that Bashundhara Group has invested huge in the private sector.
“At present, Bashundhara Group is running more than 30 ventures. Each of the initiatives has never stumbled for a single moment,” he added.
The Bashundhara vice chairman expressed his firm hope that Toggi along with its partners will make the new initiative titled ‘Digital Liberation’ a success.
Microsoft Director for Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal, Bhutan and Laos Sonia Bashir Kabir, hSenid Business Solutions Head of Sales Riazi Shamsuddin, nCinga Innovations (Pvt) Ltd CEO, TSL Business Application & Emerging Technology Business Champion Shajahan Ahmed and top officials of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMEA), Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS), among others, were present at the program.
