DHAKA: Trading on the country's both bourses - Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange - is underway with upward trends in early hours on Tuesday (April 2).
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 38.90 points or 0.70 percent to 5,541.98 at 12:00pm.
The two other indices at DSE also edged higher till then.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went up by 6.77 points or 0.52 percent to 1,284.43.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also advanced 13.44 points or 0.68 percent to stand at 1985.08 points.
Of the issues traded, 244 gained, 43 declined and 48 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 1,718 million changed hands till then at the DSE.
Monno Ceramics was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 141.81 million changing hands followed by United Power Generation and Distribution Company, British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company, Alif Industries and Grameenphone.
The port city bourse - Chittagong Stocks Exchange (CSE) - also witnessed an upward trend in the early with its Selective Category Index gaining 87.78 points or 0.52 percent to 16,970.73 at 11:59 am.
Of the issues 155 traded till then, 100 gained, 35 declined and 20 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 43.84 million.
