CHATTOGRAM: Chairman of the National Board of Revenue Md Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said like past, if advantage is given to local industries in the coming budget, investment will grow.
The NBR Chairman came up with the remark while addressing a pre-budget views-exchange meeting of 2019-20 organized by the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce in the city on Thursday (April 4).
NBR chairman said, “Advantages have to be given to the local industries. We've done whatever is needed to be done over the past few years. If it continues, people will be interested in industrialization. Investments will increase.”
“The current budget is of Taka 4 lakh 64,000 crore, the next budget is about Taka 5 lakh crore. Industrialization has started with small and medium industries in the country alongside large industries. Population has become our resources. Labor is relatively cheap in this country. The purchase ability of workers for essential consumer goods is increasing,” NBR chairman added.
'The contribution of industries has increased to 33 percent in the national income owing to government's support. Now, there is much possibility. Therefore, government is setting up special economic zones, NBR chairman further added.
