DHAKA: Both the bourses -Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed negative trends in the early hours of trading on Tuesday (April 9), the third session of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went down by 39.25 points or 0.73 percent to stand at 5,332.97 at 11:48 am.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) declined 7.05 points or 0.56 percent to stand at 1233.56 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also lost 18.36 points or 0.95 percent to stand at 1906.17 points.
Trade deals stood at 42566 with transaction at over Tk 1106.99 million on the DSE.
Of the issues traded till then, 83 advanced, 170 declined and 63 issues remained unchanged.
Esquire Knit Composite Ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 226.15 million changing hands till then.
The port city bourse also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX- losing 84.40 points or 0.51 percent to stand at 16,394.58 points, also at 11:44am.
Of the 124 issues traded till then, 20 gained, 85 declined and 19 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 53.41 million.
