DHAKA: Trading on the country’s two bourses-- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- is underway with upward trend of share-price indices on Thursday (April 11).
Within first two hours of trading, the key index of the country's major bourse advanced 23.13 points while the Selective Category Index of the port city bourse gained 56.80 points.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 23.13 points or 0.43 percent to 5284.73points at 12:25pm.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also advanced 4.46 points or 0.36 percent to stand at 1222.33 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, rose over 7.38 points or 0.39 percent to reach at 1885.30 points.
Turnover stands at Tk 1,197.33 million on the DSE, riding on Fortune Shoes and Monno Ceramics.
Fortune Shoes Limited dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 112.78 million changing hands till then followed by Monno ceramics and Esquire Knit
Of the issues traded till then, 22 advanced, 163 declined and 50 issues remained unchanged.
However, the port city bourse, the CSE, saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX – declining 56.80 points or 0.35 percent to stand at 16,205 also at 12:25 pm.
Out of 149 issues traded, 88 gained, 37 declined and 24 remained unchanged.
