DHAKA: The key share price indices in the country’s two bourses - Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – witnessed fall in early hours of trading after the bourses opened with positive on Wednesday (April 17).
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX lost 15.12 points or 0.28 percent to 5,233.79 at 12:13 pm.
The two other indices at DSE also edged lower till then. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went down by 3.63 points or 0.30 percent to 1,208.72.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also declined 8.60 points or 0.45 percent to stand at 1,868.21 points.
Of the issues traded, 115 gained, 161 declined and 53 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 1,292.19 million changed hands till then at the DSE.
Monno Ceramic Industries ltd was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 113.76 million changing hands followed by Fortune Shoes, United Power Generation and Distribution Company.
The port city bourse - Chittagong Stocks Exchange (CSE) - also witnessed a downward trend in the early with its Selective Category Index losing 53.98 points or 0.33 percent to 16,046.84 at 12:14 pm.
Of the issues 152 traded till then, 40 gained, 77 declined and 35 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 33.79 million.
